Encoding and formats

  • FfmpegFileSink: H.264 + MP4 (+faststart), video only;
  • EgressWorkerSink: MP4 with audio, parameters chosen by the egress worker;
  • encoded-only H.265 pass-through is not implemented (recordEncodedOnly exists on the 4.x surface; this build decodes and re-encodes).

Billing (self-hosted mirror)

Agora bills on-premise recording by licence/server. The self-hosted ni-meet build has no cloud charges, but usage is still recorded as recordings resources (job, output bytes, duration) for console statistics and quota policies.

Local recording does not consume cloud recording minutes and is not part of the cloud recording recordingSuccess SLO.
